Francis Xavier Parish is at the boundary between the western suburbs
of Brisbane and the eastern suburbs of
Ipswich.
Suburbs
covered include: Goodna, Gailes, Camira, Bellbird
Park, Carol Park, Ellen
Grove, Wacol, Redbank, Collingwood Park,
Kruger, Redbank Plains.
This is one of Australia's
most culturally diverse parishes and together with Indigenous
Australians has a mix of people from Vietnam,
Laos, Central and
South America, Eastern and Western Europe, Pacific
Islands such as Samoa.
The parish has a large youth and aged populations and many
organisations to deal with challenges in the area.
